Head of the Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono said the Ministry of Public Works (PU) would allocate a budget of around Rp. 10 trillion to continue infrastructure work that had not been completed at IKN, East Kalimantan.

Basuki admitted that he knew this directly from Deputy Minister (Wamen) of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti who made a visit to IKN recently.

"Alhamdulillah, on April 15, we have gathered all service providers and notified by the Deputy Minister of Public Works (Diana Kusumastuti) and the Director General that all budgets have been unblocked, around Rp. 10 trillion for PU to complete these (infrastructure) jobs," Basuki said in an online press conference, Wednesday, April 23.

The infrastructure works in question include the construction of toll roads, the vice president's palace (Wapres), mosques. Then, waste water and there are several roads in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

"The work that has been carried out since 2022-2024 and has not been completed is still being carried out by the Ministry of Public Works," said Basuki.

In addition, Basuki said, the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) led by Maruarar Sirait (Ara) also contributed to the development of IKN.

According to Basuki, the ministry will build five additional flat (Rusun) towers for housing at IKN.

"Then also from the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas, it was also stated that there would be an additional five flat towers for ASN (State Civil Apparatus)," he said.

Thus, said Basuki, the two ministries will continue their work at IKN until it is finished.

"So those two, the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas to continue the unfinished multi-year work," he concluded.
