Minister Ara Calls SOE Land Can Be Built By People's Houses

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) revealed that land owned by BUMN can be used as a location for the construction of people's houses.

"Many developer associations also want to build housing on land owned by SOEs. Later we will consolidate between the Ministry of PKP and the Ministry of SOEs and developers regarding the location of the land and housing can be built," said Ara as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 23.

Ara meminta, Menteri BUMN Erick Thohir untuk memberikan kesempatan pada asosiasi pengembang housing untuk memanfaatkan lahan aset BUMN ada untuk lokasi pembangunan perumahan bagi masyarakat.

However, the Ministry of PKP also opens opportunities for investment from abroad who also want to be interested in building housing for people at a number of land locations, both owned by SOEs and other land that is suitable for their designation.

Ara also appreciated the support from the Ministry of SOEs for preparing land data belonging to PT KAI, Pelindo and Perumnas which could be used for housing development land for the community.

"I would like to thank the Minister of SOEs Erick for inviting the housing ecosystem in BUMN and conveying information and data as well as locations owned by SOEs from PT KAI, Pelindo and Perumnas for housing development locations," he said.

He also conveyed the collaboration and synergy between the Ministry of PKP and the Ministry of SOEs according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction so that pro-people programs and policies can be felt by all levels of society, both working in the formal and informal sectors.

Ara admitted that his party and the developer will consolidate related to the distribution of the FLPP mortgage allocation.

Moreover, from the data that this year there are already funds for 220,000 subsidized houses for low-income people and including for household assistants (ART).

He added, with BI funding and the support of the President, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR and the Minister of SOEs and the Ministry of Finance could get GWM's concessions and become how BI came with its macro policy but had an effect on economic growth.

"According to the President's order, the housing program should not only target those who have salaries but must also be enjoyed by small people, including meatball makers, vegetable sellers and even household assistants, they must also be able to own subsidized houses," he said.

Ara will also coordinate with the Minister in charge of prisons how prisons in strategic places in big cities can be moved and can be used for housing.

This is a brilliant idea from President Prabowo Subianto and must be supported by all parties.

"Many prison locations can now be used for residential locations. But of course, a replacement prison must be built first," said Ara.
