JAKARTA - The National Energy Council (DEN) supports Rosatomcorp, a Russian BUMN to invest in the nuclear industry sector through the construction of a Nuclear Power Plant (PLTN) in Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), Indonesia.
Member of the DEN, Musri Mawaledha and Deputy Governor of Southeast Sulawesi Hugua completed a meeting with the Russian Trade Representative Office in Jakarta, Thursday, April 17, saying this PLTN is very environmentally friendly, efficient and economically cheap.
Rosatom is a Russian state company engaged in the nuclear nuclear power plant. Rosatom is also the largest company in the world to become a vendor engaged in the nuclear industry.
"Investasi pengembangan PLTN ini 100 persen dari pihak Rosatom yang akan biaya, tidak akan membawakan APBN apalagi APBD," kata Musri, dikutip Antara.
Musri added that the nuclear power plant (NPP) is the best step in responding to the challenges of renewable energy to answer the possibility of an energy crisis and Indonesia's commitment to develop clean energy in accordance with global commitments.

Southeast Sulawesi is a priority for the NPP development site because based on data and geological research conducted by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) that this area is very stable and capable of becoming the center of NPP development in Indonesia.
In terms of electricity demand, Southeast Sulawesi really needs large electrical resources because there is a nickel mining processing industry and a large derivative industry.
Even PLTN will answer the need for household electricity and small industries that are currently not being met.
NPP or PLTN has been widely developed in developed countries such as France which uses to meet the country's electricity needs by 70 percent, then Russia, the United States, which has 93 power plants, followed by Japan and China.
