INKA Trial Of KAI Commuter Order KRL On The Jabodetabek Cross

JAKARTA - PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) or PT INKA conducted a trial of the Electric Rail Train (KRL) produced at the Jabodetabek crossing, which was ordered by PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia or KAI Commuter.

Senior Manager of Public Relations and Representative Office of PT INKA (Persero) Nuur Aisyah in his statement, in Madiun, East Java, Wednesday, April 16, said the trial at the Jabodetabek crossing was carried out after the KRL passed the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) test and the first dynamical test that had been carried out on the Solo-Yogyakarta route in March 2025.

"After crossing Solo-Yogyakarta, today the KRL was dispatched to the Jabodetabek crossing to continue the testing stages. Hopefully the trial will run smoothly to continue the next testing stages," said Nuur Aisyah, quoted by Antara.

Meanwhile, KRL departed from the Solo Jebres Depot with the locomotive being pulled gradually. The first stage is 6 trains that departed on April 16, 2025 in the morning.

Followed by the next six trains with the entire train concurrent to a series of 12 trains. KRL facilities are sent to their final destination at Depok Station.

The trial this time will begin by continuing the parameter setting by conducting a dynamical test with PT KCI, Toyo Denki, and Nabtesco across Jabodetabek to ensure the operational performance of the KRL facilities runs optimally.

Then, the test will be continued with a full load simulation and on maximum slope.

The next testing stage will be held together with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number 49 of 2023 concerning Standards, Testing Procedures, and Certification of Normal Speed Train Feasibility by Self-driven. This includes the Endurance Test as far as 4,000 FFR (Free Fault Running) for the first train.

"While waiting for the process of submitting certification of facilities from KAI Commuter to DJKA, a dynamical test of 4,000 kilometers was also carried out," he said.

KAI Commuter as the operator of the Jabodetabek KRL and Yogyakarta-Solo KRL in operating KRL services requires reliable facilities as KAI Commuter's main capital in serving customers. For the procurement of the KRL facilities, KAI Commuter cooperates with PT INKA.
