Prabowo: Share Prices Can Go Up And Down, Safe Food Conditions

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto revealed his speech before the Plenary Cabinet Session regarding preparations ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijrah at the State Palace.

In his remarks, Prabowo emphasized that the condition of Indonesian food is safe and under control.

Prabowo was worried about food safety and food import activities.

He admitted that this year's food production was quite good.

Moreover, he said, food prices in the market are quite under control even though the price of cayenne pepper is still high.

"I want to thank all parties who work in the food and plantation sector who encourage this. Food is the most important thing. Share prices can go up and down, food is safe, the country is safe. Hehehe," said Prabowo, Friday, March 21.

He continued, with the high price of cayenne pepper, Prabowo appealed to the public to reduce the consumption of spicy food.

Prabowo then compared himself to those who like to eat spicy in his youth, but are now prohibited by doctors.

On the same occasion, Prabowo also expressed his pride in the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program which has reached 38 provinces in Indonesia with 2 million beneficiaries.

However, Prabowo admitted that he was not satisfactory.

"But I understand that the Head of the Nasioanl Nutrition Agency has worked with all ranks. This is the fastest we can do. In 3 months there are 3 million beneficiaries," he continued.

Prabowo also admitted that he still received many complaints from the public during a working visit.

The complaint mostly came from people whose children had not been touched by the MGB program.

"Please be patient. But I ask the Head of BGN and all ranks to think innovatively and creatively. What if we accelerate. Do we use a hybrid system? Because of the pity of our people, we really need and hope," said Prabowo.
