Aburizal Bakrie Daughter: Company Bosses Must Focus On Paying Holiday Allowance For Employees

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson (Waketum) of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anindya N. Bakrie asked employers to focus more on employee holiday allowances (THR) so that workers can celebrate Eid Al-Fitr 1442 Hijri in the midst of the COVID-19 epidemic.

"In the midst of this pandemic, it would be very good, if the company focuses more on the THR of its employees", said Anindya N. Bakrie as quoted from Antara, Monday, April 26.

The daughter of conglomerate Aburizal Bakrie supports the government policy that obliges companies to pay THR for workers ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 1442 H so that employers are expected to focus more on paying THR to their workers.

"I think the current condition is the origin of this COVID-19, so this epidemic is spreading, of course, we will be more difficult", she said.

According to her, during Ramadan, dozens of people were transferred from one area to another and this could be one of the sources or triggers for the increase in COVID-19 cases.

Therefore, it is hoped that workers will not go home for Eid this year to prevent and break the chain of spreading this coronavirus.

"For the time being, we hope that people will be patient not to go home for Eid", she said.
