There Will Be A BSD-Lebak Bulus Skytrain, Ministry Of Transportation: Investors Have Submitted Letter Of Intent

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has opened its voice regarding the plan to build a Skytrain project or cable car with the BSD to Lebak Bulus route, South Jakarta.

The Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation, M. Risal Wasal revealed that the Skytrain project is still under study. Even so, Risal admitted that investors had submitted a Letter of Intent as a form of interest in building the project.

Furthermore, said Risal, the ministry will provide a response. Meanwhile, investors will prepare a feasibility study (FS) as the next step.

They have submitted a Letter of Intent application for the desire to build a Skytrain. We will answer, and they will file a FS," he said when met at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 11.

Risal explained that the project was unsolicited, where the investment initiative came directly from investors without going through a SOlicited Government Cooperation with Business Entity (PPP) scheme.

"It's from their investment. So they just have their FS, we'll buy the piloting later," he explained.

Separately, the Minister of Transportation (Menhub), Dudy Purwagandhi, said the government is open to any party who wants to build the mode of transportation. However, his party will review in advance every proposal submitted.

"We open it to anyone, we will see the proposal that comes into us," said Dudy.

Dudy also said that there is no possibility of cooperation with state-owned enterprises (BUMN), until now there has been no special assessment, because the government wants to provide opportunities for the private sector in the development of transportation.

"We are temporarily open to anyone. The important thing is that we want to try such transportation can be opened to the private sector," he said.
