Bahlil Checks The Quality Of RON 90 And RON 92 At The Southeast Sulawesi Gas Station

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia ensures that supply and energy distribution continue to run smoothly during Ramadan 2025 and ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H in Southeast Sulawesi.

During his visit to a number of energy infrastructures, Bahlil also carried out direct checks on the difference in quality between RON 90 and RON 92 octane fuel. This test aims to ensure that people get good quality fuel.

"God willing, there is no need to worry about the quality of the fuel being sold. RON 90 is actually subsidized, while RON 92 is the market price, not subsidized," Bahlil said in a statement to the media, Monday, March 10.

As a form of education, Bahlil asked Pertamina Patra Niaga to provide examples of BBM RON 90 and RON 92 at each gas station. That way, the public can distinguish the specifications of the two types of fuel.

Regarding the supply of B40 and diesel, Bahlil emphasized that the availability was sufficient to Eid al-Fitr. In fact, the Baubau Fuel Terminal plays an important role in supplying 54 percent of fuel needs in the Sulawesi region.

In addition to serving Sulawesi, this terminal also supplies fuel to Maluku and is a reserve for East Nusa Tenggara, Bima, and several other areas.

The government itself has set a subsidized fuel quota for Southeast Sulawesi in 2025. The JBKP (Pertalite) fuel quota reaches 356,464 KL, with the realization until January 2025 of 25,919 KL or 7.23 percent of the quota. Meanwhile, the JBT (Biosolar) fuel quota is set at 153,227 KL, with the realization until January 2025 of 12,592 KL or 8.22 percent of the quota.
