JAKARTA Customs and Excise together with the General Company of Money Printing of the Republic of Indonesia (Perri) released a new design for the excise band for 2025 with the theme 'Persona Bunga Nusantara' which displays the beauty of various Indonesian flowers.

The charm of the archipelago flower used in the 2025 excise band design includes jepun Bali flowers, jeumpa flowers, moon orchids, black orchids, and rough forest cempaka flowers.

Head of the Sub-Directorate for Customs and Excise Counseling, Budi Prasetiyo, revealed that the theme became a symbol of the pride and commitment of Customs personnel in carrying out supervisory duties in the field of customs and excise in Indonesia.

"Changes in excise band designs are carried out every year to improve security and minimize the circulation of illegal excisable goods. This is an anticipatory step to prevent excise stamp counterfeiting," he added in his statement, Thursday, March 6.

To note, excise stamps are security documents as a marker of excise payment attached to excisable goods (BKC) in the form of tobacco products (HT), e-cigarettes (REL), other tobacco products (HPTL) and beverages containing ethyl alcohol (MMEA) as security documents, excise stamps consisting of security paper, security holograms, and security prints.

In addition, excise tape is also a means of monitoring the circulation of BKC and as one of the approaches to manifestations of tariff policy (quantitative measurement) whose main goal is to control the circulating BKC quantities.

Budi conveyed that the excise band in 2025 for domestic and foreign MMEA (import) is equipped with a new security feature in the form of a Quick Response (QR) Code. This is done to make it easier for the public to identify the identity of MMEA producers or importers because the appearance of excise stamps looks simple with a QR Code.

Please note, that the color of the excise band is also different, depending on the class and type of BKC. For BKC in the form of HT class I in orange, class II in blue, class III in purple, and HT without gray groups and HT from abroad in red.

BKC in the form of MMEA from within the country with a blue class B and a green class C. As for the BKC in the form of MMEA from abroad with orange group A, gray group B, and red class C.

In addition, Budi also mentioned that based on the results of the prosecution carried out by the Customs and Excise surveillance unit, until now there are still rampant acts of state levy avoidance (tax avoidance) with the mode of attachment to fake excise stamps, incorrect excise tape attachment, and incorrect excise stamps. personalization.

Budi conveyed that the practice of evading state levies would certainly have a negative impact on the state and business actors of the BKC. The state has lost the potential for state revenue from the excise sector and business actors is affected by its business development.

Therefore, Budi said that synergy is needed from all parties, including the community, to be able to help report if they know about the misuse of excise tape in the vicinity.

"We invite the public to become smart consumers by always checking the authenticity of excise stamps on products purchased and rejecting the use of illegal products (BKC). Make sure the products purchased have original excise stamps attached to avoid legal risks due to the use of illegal products," concluded Budi.
