Visiting PT Danbi, Wamenaker Asks Curator To Clarify Labor Status

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan asked the Curator of PT Danbi International (Garut) to clarify the status of workers after being declared bankrupt by the Jakarta Commercial Court (PN) on February 10, 2025. Just so you know, until now there has been no statement from the Curator regarding the fate of 2,079 workers.

Noel said, if there has been a Termination of Work Relations (PHK), Curator must clarify. Because clarity is the legal basis for asking for severance pay and old-age guarantees from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

"My hope is that the Curator will clarify the fate of the workers on the first occasion," said Wamenaker in a statement to the media, Monday, March 3.

The workers complained to Wamenaker, an announcement that the company was bankrupt, affixed by Kurator on February 18. Salaries that are usually on the 5th and 20th of each month.

"On February 20, we didn't get a salary anymore," said Risna, Labor Coordinator.

In fact, since the last six months, the salary of workers, which is Rp2,186,000 per month, has been deducted by 35 percent.

"We ask the government to protect our rights as workers that are guaranteed by regulations and regulations," said Risma.

Risna, the Legal Division of the Garut Manunggal Labor Union (SBMG), revealed that PT Danbi International was founded in 1987, operating from 1989. "There are still many workers who have worked since the company started operating, so it's been 36 years," said Risna.

Noel emphasized that Curator should clarify the fate of workers. Because with this clarity there is a legal basis for BPJS Employment to disburse labor rights.

"Our hope is that the Curator cares more about the fate of the workers. I am sure that the Supervisory Judge from the Jakarta Commercial Court will agree that the priority is to give labor rights. So ask the Curator to also side with the workers," said Wamenaker Noel.

According to workers' explanation to Wamenaker, PT Danbi International's shares were acquired by Daux International Hong Kong Ltd 2002. Still in Garut city, there is also PT Daux Cosmetic, both producing fake eyelashes.

The workers then invited Wamenaker Noel to ask PT Daux Cosmetic, what is the connection between the company and the shareholders of Danbi International (named Daux International Hong Kong Ltd), because both have the word 'Daux.'

However, when Wamenaker, who jointly visited the Cosmetic Daux, did not get a clear answer, because the company's top brass were out.

"Anyway, we will fight for your fate together. And we will recommend that you be prioritized to be accepted at a newly established factory in Garut, namely PT Ultimate Noble Indonesia," said Wamaneker.
