After Minerba, Deputy Coordinating Minister For Cooperatives Can Manage Oil And Gas Mining

Deputy Minister of Cooperatives (Wamenkop) Ferry Juliantono revealed that cooperative business entities can be involved in managing oil and gas mines (oil and gas), after the revision of the Minerba Law which allows cooperatives to manage mineral and coal mines.

"We want cooperatives as business entities to be able to enter business sectors in realizing food, energy, and downstream food supply, according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction," said Ferry at the National Working Meeting of the Association of Indonesian Energy and Coal Suppliers (Aspebindo), Thursday, February 27.

Even Ferry believes that a new Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation will be issued which will regulate cooperatives that can be involved in the management of the oil and gas sector.

"We will continue to coordinate on that," added Ferry.

For Ferry, this step is the government's desire to build an energy self-sufficiency. Aplagi, he said, there are already cooperatives that can and successfully manage the former Pertamina oil well in Muara Enim, South Sumatra. Currently, cooperatives in the mining and excavation sector are 500 units.

"It is hoped that with the granting of this mining management right, other cooperatives will grow. Because, there are tens of thousands of oil wells like that that that can be managed by cooperatives," said Ferry.

In addition, on land that is a communal certificate, the Deputy Minister of Cooperatives hopes to be used as a basis or in areas where cooperatives can participate in producing raw materials that can be supplied to PLN in the form of biomass.

"Target 2025, PLN will use 10 percent of its energy from biomass," continued Ferry.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung revealed that his party was formulating regulations for the involvement of cooperatives in the management of oil wells, especially idle wells.

"This can later be collaborated with cooperatives in the regions," said Yuliot.
