Minister Of Public Works: The Presence Of Danantara Opens The Opportunity For Private Sectors To Participate In National Infrastructure Development

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo said that the presence of Danantara opens wider opportunities for the private sector to participate in national infrastructure development.

As is known, President Prabowo Subianto has launched the Anagata Nusantara Resources Investment Management Agency or BPI Danantara at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, February 24.

This is part of the government's efforts to attract investment from within and outside the country. This institution will play a major catalyst in financing vital projects such as road construction, bridges, ports, airports, to digital infrastructure that is the backbone of national connectivity.

Dody also welcomed the presence of Danantara and emphasized that this agency-run investment must have a real impact on the community.

"We want to ensure that every project supported by Danantara runs according to the principles of good governance. Transparency and accountability must be a priority so that incoming investment really has a significant impact on the community," said Dody in a written statement, Tuesday, February 25.

He assessed that collaboration between the government, the private sector and the Danantara would be the main key in creating better connectivity, accelerating equitable development and increasing Indonesia's competitiveness at the global level.

The Democrat Party cadre hopes that the existence of Danantara will be able to support inclusive economic growth by ensuring that infrastructure development is not only concentrated in big cities, but also in remote areas.

"This is in line with the government's vision of creating equitable development and improving the welfare of people throughout Indonesia," he said.

With this investment management agency, said Dody, the infrastructure financing scheme does not only rely on the state budget, but also takes advantage of long-term investments from various parties.

"We want to create a sustainable financing system so that infrastructure development is not hampered by budget constraints. With a more flexible model, we can ensure strategic projects continue to run and provide broad benefits for the people," he said.

In addition to focusing on physical development, continued Dody, Danantara is also expected to support sustainability-based projects, including green energy development, environmentally friendly transportation systems and infrastructure digitization.

"The infrastructure we built must take into account the sustainability aspect. The Danantara must be an instrument that supports green and inclusive development, so that Indonesia can adapt to global challenges, including climate change," he concluded.
