BI Guyur Incentives Rp80 Trillion For KPR, Minister Ara: Top Priority Of MBR

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) said the incentives for Bank Indonesia's Microprudential Liquidity Policy (KLM BI) were up to Rp80 trillion to support housing programs for low-income people (MBR).

Ara said, one of which is that the jumbo liquidity support will be channeled to increase housing financing support through the Home Ownership Credit scheme for Housing Financing Liquidity Facilities (KPR FLPP).

"Later we will allocate of course how friendly it is for MBR. That is certainly one of the most important priorities. One of the products MBR is FLPP," said Ara when met at the Ministry of Finance Office, Jakarta, Thursday, February 20.

The reason is, according to Ara, the FLPP program is one of the supports for MBR housing financing which is considered quite a lot of interest.

In addition, FLPP is also claimed to be one of the programs that has high certainty for both the recipient community, developers and the banking industry.

"So far (the FLPP program) I have seen how bad credit is not too big, it can still be managed," he said.

Previously, Bank Indonesia (BI) stated that it would increase the incentive for micropridential liquidity policy (KLM) to Rp80 trillion to support the program of 3 million houses.

"We view that the housing sector will provide support for high economic growth and employment. If the housing advances, of course, not only will the economic growth progress, but it can also encourage and attract other sectors," Perry said at a press conference at the BI office, Jakarta, Tuesday night, February 11.

Perry explained that his party has currently distributed macroprudential liquidity incentives worth IDR 23.19 trillion.

After a meeting with the Minister of PKP and the Minister of SOEs recently, BI agreed to gradually increase its value to Rp80 trillion to support the program of 3 million houses.

"What is now Rp. 23.2 trillion will gradually increase it to Rp. 80 trillion," he added.
