JAKARTA - The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) cooperates with Shopee and Smesco to launch the program 'Young People Can Export' and 'New MSME Success Program'
Deputy Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Helvi Moraza said MSMEs now have a greater opportunity to enter the global market more easily and efficiently.
This program aims to expand market access for the ten MSMEs in the Shopee network, from Southeast Asia to Brazil, with the pilot stage currently taking place in Malaysia.
"We hope that this initiative will not only be a momentum for MSMEs to go global, but also inspire more young entrepreneurs to dare to enter the international market," said Deputy Minister Helvi, Thursday, February 20.
Helvi explained that as many as 18 MSMEs in the fashion sector have been selected through the curation and incubation process and will participate in various strategic activities, including fashion shows, showcases for MSME products, Focus Group Discussions entitled Champion Fashion, and Inauguration of the Association of Online Sellers.
"This program aims to empower young entrepreneurs to be able to compete in the international market," said Helvi.
Helvi said that the expansion of market access along with improving the quality of MSME products is a key factor in increasing the contribution of MSMEs to the national economy.
"In addition to maintaining quality, we must also be able to open the widest possible access for MSMEs so that they can penetrate the world market so that they can be more competitive. This will have a positive impact on the national economy," said Deputy Minister Helvi.
On the same occasion, the Presidential Special Envoy for the Development of the Young Generation and Art Workers Raffi Ahmad appreciated this excellent collaboration between the government and the private sector.
"Collaboration is President Prabowo Subianto's goal, one of which is in the realm of MSMEs. Because MSMEs are the backbone of the Indonesian economy," said Raffi.
As a representative of the younger generation and art workers, Raffi said, MSMEs should not be abandoned because the reality is that they are close to the world of young people.
"We must embrace young people, especially those living in the regions, because in the business world we must definitely pioneer. Our job is to socialize programs related to assistance and expansion of access. The President hopes that this program will continue and hopefully the number of batches will continue to increase, so that local products will not lose to foreign products," he said.
