Budget Affected By Pangkas, Erick Thohir Make Sure There Is No Reduction Of Employees To OB

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir ensured that there would be no reduction in the number of staff or human resources (HR) even though the ministry's budget was cut.

In addition, Erick revealed, his ministry has not reduced the number of security officers and cleaning operations officers or Office Boy.

"There is no reduction of employees to this day, then Office Boy, we are also trying to guard the security guard with the existing budget," he said during a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.

Erick also said that his party still maintains a number of supporting facilities for employees. Such as health clinics and child care centers that provide caregivers or daycare.

"We will continue to protect personnel facilities such as clinics, daycare, and others," he said.

As previously reported, the initial budget obtained by the Ministry of SOEs was IDR 277.5 billion. Then, because of efficiency, the budget obtained is IDR 161.9 billion. This means that there is a cut of IDR 115.6 billion.

The budget cuts are a follow-up to Presidential Instruction (Inpres) number 1 of 2025 concerning Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the APBN and APBD for the 2025 fiscal year.

Regarding budget efficiency, Erick said that his party had proposed a budget ceiling for the Ministry of SOEs in 2025 of IDR 215 billion. This means that from the initial budget ceiling of IDR 277.5 billion which can be deducted by IDR 62.5 billion.

"Alhamdulillah, yesterday afternoon we tried to propose to the Ministry of Finance, indeed we have not received 100 percent confirmation, but they saw that our proposal was not something that was made up because indeed our minimum limit to operating was Rp215 billion," he said.

Erick explained that the Rp215 billion budget was already included in the efficacy carried out by the meter. For example, reducing the budget for official vehicles by 66 percent.

Furthermore, Erick said, initially the official vehicles used by SOE Ministry officials were all electricity-based, now they are hybrid.

"Yesterday we all rented us to try to replace the cheaper one from an electric car to a hybrid, the goal was now a hybrid electric. The price could be up to 66 percent cheaper," he said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.

Then, continued Erick, his party had also cut the official travel budget by 54 percent. Then, the reduction in SOE supervision costs by 50 percent. Also, the reduction in IT facilities is up to 41 percent.

"Then the ATK reduction is up to 90 percent, and 70 percent reduction in leadership facilities," he said.

In addition, Erick said that he also admitted to saving the budget for meeting activities by 43 percent.

"As well as eliminating ceremonial things, we have cut it. Then 39 percent efficiency in building use," said Erick.
