JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) continues to boost the maintenance of the main toll road on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) to ensure the smooth flow of Eid Al-Fitr 2025 homecoming.

One of the main focuses is the repair and maintenance of the Pekanbaru (Permai) Toll Road, which is expected to be the main route for the movement of travelers in the Sumatra region.

This maintenance is carried out as an anticipatory measure against the surge in mobility which is predicted to reach more than 3 million movements during the homecoming period.

In line with government directives, Hutama Karya is committed to keeping the quality of toll roads safe and comfortable for road users.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim stated that road maintenance is carried out regularly with various methods, including trekpping, Filling & Overlay (SFO) to improve the quality of road pavement and rigid concrete reconstruction at points that suffered significant damage.

"The Pekanbaru 'Dumai' toll road is one of the main sections of JTTS with high traffic volume, especially during homecoming. Maintenance is carried out thoroughly to ensure the safety and comfort of road users," said Adjib in a written statement, quoted Thursday, February 13.

Adjib detailed that maintenance at the Permai Toll Road includes SFO work at several points, including KM 64+350-KM 64+400 lanes A, KM 66+770 to KM 66+820 Line A, KM 69+380 to KM 69+430 Line A and KM 78+300-KM 80+600 lane A.

According to Adjib, this work is targeted to be completed in the second week or about 15 days before the peak of the homecoming flow. During the maintenance process, Hutama Karya implemented traffic arrangements by installing warning signs from 1 kilometer before the work point so that road users can adjust speed and remain vigilant.

"We urge road users to be more careful during this maintenance period and follow the signs that have been installed," he said.

In order to speed up maintenance, Hutama Karya also increased the number of Pothole Inspection Teams tasked with detecting and handling potholes or damage on toll roads.

From the beginning there were only two teams, now the number has been increased to three teams to ensure faster and responsive inspections.

"With the increase in the number of inspection teams, the detection and handling of holes can be carried out faster. Thus, road conditions are maintained in optimal conditions ahead of the peak of the 2025 Eid homecoming flow," said Adjib.

Hutama Karya apologized for the potential inconvenience during the maintenance process and invited road users to participate in maintaining security by reporting potentially dangerous road conditions through the company's official Call Center Hutama Karya or social media.
