JAKARTA - Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani targets the average investment rate in Indonesia to increase by 15.67 percent on an annual basis (annualy), to realize economic growth of eight percent by 2029 as desired by President Prabowo.

He explained that the increase in the average was intended so that the new investment plan that entered the country reached Rp13,032.8 trillion or 814.6 billion US dollars (exchange rate of Rp16,000) until 2029 could be fulfilled.

"Last year, we could achieve an investment of a total of US$114.3 billion or equivalent to Rp1,714 trillion, and this is 103.9 percent of the target set by the President," he said, quoting Antara.

He detailed that the investment target in 2025 will reach IDR 1,905.6 trillion or 119.1 billion US dollars, in 2026 IDR 2,175.26 trillion or 136 billion US dollars, in 2027 IDR 2,567.47 trillion or 160.5 billion US dollars, in 2028 IDR 2,969.64 trillion or 185.6 billion US dollars, and in 2029 the incoming investment target will reach IDR 3,414.82 trillion or 213.4 billion US dollars.

Furthermore, Minister Rosan believes that the downstream sector in Indonesia can make a significant contribution in meeting this target.

"Last year, we calculated the contribution of investment from downstream reaching 28.8 percent, and we believe the contribution from this industry could increase by 30 percent in the next five years," he said.

In addition, in the event, Minister Rosan also invited world investors not to hesitate to invest in the country, considering that Indonesia will become a developed country in 2045.

"We want you to be part of this incredible journey," he said.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that his support for investment can continue to be improved in Indonesia in various sectors so that investment targets worth IDR 3,414 trillion can be achieved in 2029.

Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani revealed President Prabowo's support after reporting full investment achievements in Indonesia 2024 and new targets prepared to President Prabowo.
