Minister Maruarar: This Is The Right Time To Own A House

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait said that now is the right time for low-income people (MBR) to want to own a house.

Moreover, he said, currently the government is offering various bonuses such as exemption from the Acquirement of Land and Building Rights (BPHTB) and the levy of buildings that are now free.

"This is the time to own a house. Why? Because BPHTB usually pays 5 percent, now it's 0 percent. The retribution for approval of buildings from local governments, PBG pays first, now it's free," he said at the Grand Launching Bale by BTN, at Istora Senayan, Sunday, February 9.

In addition, he said the government is also currently providing a policy in the form of a 100 percent Government-Borrowed Value Added Tax (PPN DTP) for the period January to June 2025.

Then, he continued, VAT DTP was 50 percent for the period from July to December 2025 for the provisions of house prices of up to Rp. 2 billion.

"So take advantage of this opportunity, it's also free," he said.

Ara, his nickname, also conveyed that the realization of subsidized mortgages had reached 93,484 housing units in the first 100 days of President Prabowo Subianto's administration.

Of the total realization, 54,145 units are still in the process of being built up to a credit contract. Meanwhile, 39,339 units have been distributed through the KPR scheme for Home Financing Liquidation Facilities (FLPP) and the Tapera contract.

"That's what the construction runs at 10,232 units, which is ready for 11,783 credit approvals before the 23,413 contract. Credit contracts 8,717. A total of 54,145 units," he said.

"Realization of the distribution of KPR subsidies for FLPP 37,955 units, special KPR contracts for civil servants 1,384 units, totaling 39,339 units. This means, from October 20 when President Prabowo was inaugurated until February 5, the total number was 93,484," he continued.

Ara said that based on data, BTN had realized 23,313 subsidized housing units, while BTN Syariah contributed 5,529 units.

"So, a total of more than 28,000 units or 75.98 percent of subsidized housing financing has been realized," he said.
