JAKARTA - The Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) said it would add four series of trains or trainsets (TS) that will operate from 20 to 24 by 2025.
"For the TS we are operating, there are 20. Now, we plan to add 2 more TS in the first quarter, then for the second semester of 2025 we will also add 2 more trainsets," said the Jabodebek LRT PR Manager, Mahendro Trang Bawono when met by media crews at Dukuh Atas Station, Thursday, January 30.
Mahendro explained that the four trainsets were not new, but were backup trainers that had not been operated so far.
"So indeed, we hope that by 2025 there will be 24 trainsets that we will operate, which have been repaired, we don't buy like KCI (Commuter Line), so he bought a new one, we didn't," he said.
Therefore, Mahendro said that in 2026, the Jabodebek LRT targets to have 31 trainsets, of which 27 trainsets will be used and the remaining 4 will remain in reserve.
Mahendro said that currently the number of daily users of the Jabodek LRT reaches 80,000.
