PLN Ensures Electricity Returns Gradually After Flood

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) Jakarta Raya's Main Distribution Unit (UID) confirmed that it would turn on the electricity again after conditions were declared safe.

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Lasiran emphasized that his party continues to be alert in dealing with extreme weather conditions and potential flooding that could have an impact on the reliability of electricity supply.

Just so you know, 1,873 customers in several areas of Jakarta experienced temporary power outages due to puddles of water today.

The affected locations include Jalan Bumi Citra Idaman, Jalan Boulevard Raya Ruko Mutiara Taman Palem, Jalan Manyar, and Rusun BCI in West Jakarta, as well as Karma Yudha Street, Pegangsaan Dua Kelapa Gading Street.

'Customers' safety is our top priority. PLN is always on standby in dealing with emergency conditions such as floods. We ensure that electricity can be restarted immediately after conditions are completely safe for customers and electricity infrastructure," said Lasiran, Wednesday, January 29.

He added that the blackout was carried out as a security measure to prevent the risk of electric hazards during floods.

The PLN technical team, he said, continues to monitor the affected locations and coordinate with related parties to ensure the acceleration of the recovery of electricity supply.

"Restrictions are advised to remain vigilant and prioritize safety by ensuring the installation of electricity at home is dry before restarting electronic devices," said Lasiran.
