Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Budi Arie Setiadi emphasized that his party is ready to facilitate the Association of Indonesian Tofu Tempe Producers (Gakoptindo) Cooperatives to become a supplier for tempeh and tofu needs in the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program.
Budi ensured that he would coordinate with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as the leader of the MBG program so that there was a cooperation agreement between BGN and Gakoptindo that could be carried out immediately.
"Gakoptindo is committed to supplying all the needs of tofu and tempeh in this MBG program, so we will try to help for an MoU soon, later we invite Gakoptindo to meet with Mr. Dadan Hindayana (Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN)," said Budi Arie during a working visit to Tempe Indonesia House and the Bogor Indonesian Tofu Tempe Producers Cooperative (Kopti), Wednesday, January 15.
Budi said tempeh and tofu could be the main ingredients in the MBG program for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) so that Gakoptindo should be the main supplier.

"Tempe (and tofu) must be recommended by BGN because it meets nutritional content, so I hope this Indonesian Tempe House can be managed properly and professionally so that we can replicate this business model to other places," said Coordinating Minister Budi Arie.
Budi also appreciated the efforts of the Indonesian Tempe House and Gakoptindo which have diversified tempeh products into several other superior products such as tempeh chips, tempeh cookies, nuggets and so on.

"The business turnover in Indonesia can reach Rp75 trillion and can revive up to 600 thousand craftsmen, this is a tremendous economic potential to continue to be developed," said Coordinating Minister Budi Arie.
Meanwhile, Spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Ujang Komarudin who was also present to accompany the working visit of the Coordinating Minister for Cooperatives Budi Arie emphasized that the MBG program must provide multiplier effects for the community's economy, including MSMEs to producer cooperatives.
Cooperatives need to seize this opportunity to form a program that can support the government's priority program.
"We hope that this BMBG can drive the growth of the economic sector in the village, so the MBG program is a priority program for the President to ensure that economic growth is a way," said Ujang.
