The Directorate General of Land Transportation (Ditjen Hubdat) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has prepared a budget of IDR 177.49 billion for the plan to implement urban transportation for the Buy The Service (BTS) scheme in 2025.
Director of Road Transportation of the Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Ernita Titis Dewi explained that the 2025 budget was down when compared to the previous year, which was IDR 437.89 billion.
"So, in the Ministry of Transportation from 2024 to 2025 (budget) decreased by around Rp. 7 trillion as a whole, and for BTS itself from Rp. 437 billion to Rp. 177.49 billion," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 14.
He conveyed that the decline in the budget was in line with the reduced budget of the Ministry of Transportation this year.
"This year almost all ministries have been reduced by the total budget in 2025, so there are priority activities in K/L," said Ernita.
Ernita said the budget of Rp. 177.49 billion for urban transportation with the BTS scheme would serve in eight cities.
In detail, the previous six cities have entered BTS, the other two as new cities.
The eight cities are Palembang one corridor, 13 buses with a budget of IDR 8,715,077,406; Surakarta three corridors, 42 buses with a budget of IDR 27,035,812,353; Makassar one corridor, 20 buses with a budget of IDR 17,014,376,067; Surabaya one corridor, 14 buses with IDR 13,899,917,590.
Furthermore, Balikpapan two corridors, 19 buses with a budget of Rp. 20,792,166,110; Banyumas four corridors, 37 bus units with a budget of around Rp. 37 billion; and two new cities namely Manado two corridors, 20 buses with a budget of Rp. 15,856,060,000. and Pontianak two corridors, 19 buses with a budget of Rp. 16,147,436,000.
"So what was previously for 11 cities became six old cities and two new cities, of which 12 new corridors and cities were in Menado and Pontianak with two corridors each," said Ernita.
According to him, the reduction in the budget requires determining priorities that need to be financed and supported.

Ernita added that the BTS program in 2024 previously served 11 cities, namely Palembang, Medan, Denpasar, Surakarta, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Banyumas, Banjarmasin, Bandung, Surabaya and Balikpapan with a total budget of IDR 437.89 billion.
"Which corridor should be continued, which one should not be continued. That is a consideration for the past year from 2024. We are also not alone but continuously coordinate with the local government that we serve, we subsidize through BTS," explained Ernita.
