JAKARTA - The management of Biskita Trans Pakuan services in Bogor City, West Java, has shifted to the Bogor City Government starting in early January.
With this transition, the Bogor City Government must manage the bus service with its own budget.
For your information, it is known that the Biskita Trans Pakuan service in the city of Bogor which was launched since November 2021 is a subsidy program provided by the Central Government to the Bogor City Government through the Buy The Service (BTS) mechanism.
This program is a stimulus in which in the end it is hoped that the city government can take over management from the central government.
Plt. The head of BPTJ, Suharto, conveyed that the handover process or transfer of management to the City Government had actually been planned to be carried out in 2023. However, he said, the Bogor City Government had not agreed.
"But because at that time the Bogor City Government was not ready and the time was not possible for the transfer process, we finally extended it again until 2024," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, January 14.
Suharto said that in 2024, the Bogor City Government agreed to manage Biskita itself and would allocate IDR 10 billion in 2025.
"We have conveyed to the Bogor City government to immediately prepare the process of transferring this service. And last year, Bogor City had stated its readiness to manage Biskita by allocating Rp10 billion," he said.
Suharto also said that the transfer process had been stated in the letter of transfer of public transport subsidies with the BTS scheme in Bogor City in 2025 from the Bogor City Transportation Service to BPTJ on June 25, 2024.
"This means that this transfer is not done unilaterally and not suddenly, but there is a process that is carried out quite long," said Suharto.
Furthermore, Suharto said that starting January 1, 2025, the management of Biskita Trans Pakuan services in Bogor City will continue to switch to the Bogor City Government.
"Therefore, we hope that Bogor City can optimize existing resources to support the sustainability of mass public transport services in stages," he said.

In addition, Suharto explained that for now there is a policy of budget rationalization in all regions of the central government.
This condition has an impact on reducing a number of programs and activities at the Ministry of Transportation.
"With this budget rationalization, it is no longer possible for the Central Government to allocate a budget for the Urban Mass Public Transportation Service subsidy program with a Service Purchase Scheme (BTS) in Bogor City," he said.
