KAI Opens Sudirman Station Discourse To Serve Riding And Boarding The Soetta Airport Train

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has discussed that Sudirman Station will be one of the stops to serve up and down passengers on the Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) train.

KAI Director of Business and Institutional Development, Rudi Asaturridha said this discourse was to increase integration for passengers with Jabodebek and KRL LRT services connected to Sudirman Station.

"Our plan is to stop the train from BNI City to Sudirman station, so that people from the LRT, who want to go to the airport, don't need to go to BNI City, but enough in Sudirman, so the distance for walking is closer," Rudi said as quoted on Thursday, January 2.

Even so, Rudi ensured that BNI City Station would continue to serve airport trains. According to him, by opening up and down passengers at Sudirman Station, people can have more access to use airport trains.

"Still, so it's still (there is BNI City Station), because we cover people who go up and down the LRT, it's quite far. That's why we plan to open it later, to go up and down too," he said.

In addition, Rudi said, Karet Station will be closed later. This is because the distance is too close to BNI City Station, only about 2.9 kilometers (km). After being closed, people can take the KRL from BNI City Station.

Furthermore, Rudi explained, PT KAI will also build a hallway that can be accessed by pedestrians from BNI City Station to Get to Karet.

"So if someone wants to go to Karet, he just has to walk. We have made the hallway to BNI City," said Rudi.

Meanwhile, SOE Minister Erick Thohir said he had ordered KAI to cut the duration of airport train trips, from the city to Soetta Airport.

"The important thing is from the airport to the city, can it be from 50 (minutes) to 40 (minutes)? Can it be 35 (minutes)? Now this is what is being calculated again," said Erick.
