BPS Records Inflation December 2024 Capai 0.44 Percent

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded inflation in December 2024 which was recorded at 0.44 percent on a monthly basis or month to month (mom) or higher when compared to November 2024 which was recorded at 0.30 percent.

"There was an increase in the consumer price index from 106.33 in November 2024 to 106.80 in December 2024," said Plt. Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti at a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday, January 2.

Amalia said that on an annual basis or year on year (yoy) inflation in December 2024 was 1.57 percent. Meanwhile, in inflation in the calendar year or year to date (ytd), Amalia emphasized that the two would be the same because they used the same comparison, namely December last year.

He added that monthly inflation in December 2024 was higher than inflation in November 2024 and also inflation in December 2023.

According to Amalia, the largest monthly inflation contributor expenditure group was the food, beverage and tobacco group with an inflation of 1.33 percent with an inflationary contribution of 0.38 percent.

Meanwhile, there are commodities that encourage inflation in the group, namely eggs orang ras and red chilies, each of which contributes 0.06 percent of inflation.

In addition, other commodities that contributed to inflation, such as fresh fish, cayenne pepper, shallots and cooking oil which contributed to inflation by 0.03 percent and garlic, green mustard, broiler meat which contributed 0.01 percent to inflation.
