ASDP Predicts An Increase In Passengers To Reach 4.1 Percent In The Christmas And New Year Holiday Period

JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) predicts that it will serve 3,070,317 passengers during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (Nataru) holidays. This number has increased by 4.1 percent compared to the previous year.

President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Heru Widodo said that vehicles are also predicted to increase by almost 769,258 vehicles, an increase of 7.1 percent in that period.

"We predict the number of passengers, this is up 4.1 percent or almost 3.1 million passengers. Then there is also an increase in vehicles, it's around 780,000," he said at a press conference on the 2024/2025 Natarau Transportation Service Readiness Meeting in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 17.

To anticipate this surge in passengers, continued Heru, ASDP has also prepared 14,975 ship trips during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays. This figure has increased by 14.3 percent compared to last year.

Heru said the peak movement of the Christmas and New Year holidays on the 13 Cross-National Monitoring is expected to occur from 22 to 23 December 2024. Meanwhile, the prediction of the peak of backflow occurs from 1 to 2 January 2025.

Furthermore, Heru said that his party also appealed to passengers who want to go home using the Feri ship to order tickets online on the Ferizy application.

"We make sure there are no offline ticket purchases, therefore passengers can already buy tickets from our application," he explained.

ASDP together with stakeholders also implemented the Delaying System program to anticipate a surge in passenger flow. Here are the points of the area:

1. Merak Port Direction: Rest Area KM43, KM68, And Upper Cikuasa Munic Land

2. Bakauheni Port Direction: Rest Area KM163B, KM87B, KM49B and KM20B

3. Direction of Ketapang Port: Sritanjung Terminal, Bulusan Pier Land, and Grand Watudodol

4. Gilimanuk Port Direction: UPPKB Cekik, Cargo Terminal, and Gilimanuk Bus Terminal.
