Jasa Marga Predicts 3.06 Million Vehicles Out Of Jakarta During The Christmas And New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk predicts 3.06 million vehicles will leave Jakarta during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (Nataru) holidays. This figure shows an increase of 17.6 percent from normal traffic.

Jasa Marga itself has set the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holidays for 18 days. Starting from 18 December 2024 to 4 January 2025.

Jasa Marga President Director Subakti Syukur said the vehicle would leave Jakarta via four main toll gates (GT) namely GT Cikampek Utama, GT Kalihurip Utama, GT Ciawi, and GT Cikupa.

During the Christmas holiday period there will be 3.06 million vehicles, an increase of 17.9 percent to normal. So that's what left Jakarta, and when compared to the previous Nataru period, it rose 2.4 percent. So there is still enough increase," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of SOEs Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 10.

Meanwhile, continued Subakti, the return flow for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays is estimated to reach 3 million vehicles. This number increased by 18.6 percent compared to normal traffic.

"Then those who come back later are usually smaller, namely in Nataru there will be 3 million vehicles or an increase of 18.6 percent to normal, and 2.9 percent to the Nataru period the previous year," he said.

Subakti said the company predicts that the peak of the homecoming flow during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays will occur on December 21. Meanwhile, the peak of backflow occurred on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Furthermore, Subakti said Jasa Marga has also coordinated with relevant stakeholders to anticipate an increase in traffic volume during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 periods.

Well, there is indeed a time limit for operating three-axis and above freight transport vehicles on toll roads at a certain time. This must be done, because to regulate smoothness," he explained.

In addition, said Sukabti, the SKB also regulates how the police act. Such as the application of contraflow on several toll roads to break down vehicle density in the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 periods.

"There will be a way of acting by the police, be it contraflow, especially it must be done in Jakarta Cikampek and Jagorawi, yes. Jagorawi is quite extraordinary, the density must also be regulated contraflow. And if necessary later in real-time data, it is based on police discretion," he said.

To ensure that the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year transportation run smoothly, continued Subakti, his party has also stopped various field work activities.

"We have also stopped work, all jobs in the field from 18 December to 5 January 2025," he said.
