Mejeng At Hannover Messe 2021, Pertamina Showcases Green And Sustainable Industry

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina affirms its position in supporting the transformation of industry 4.0 through accelerating the transition of energy from fossil to renewable energy in participation in the Hannover Messe 2021 event.

President Director of Pertamina Nicke Widyawati said that as one of the participants, he is committed to green and sustainable development.

"We take the energy transition very seriously, which is a common goal to reduce global warming and achieve energy sustainability," he said in an official statement Tuesday, April 13.

According to Nicke, the government has set a renewable energy mix target of 23 percent by 2025 and 31 percent by 2050.

"Therefore, Pertamina as one of the SOEs expands its involvement in the Indonesian energy industry," he said.

In order to realize this target, Pertamina is said to be converting refineries to produce green fuels such as green diesel, green avtur and green gasoline, continuing the development of bio-energy such as biomass and bioethanol.

"We also continue to optimize the potential and increase the installed capacity of geothermal, as well as the utilization of green hydrogen," he added.

Then in the field of power plants, continued Nicke, Pertamina also continues to increase the utilization of solar power plants in various areas of operation as well as biogas power plants in Sei Mangkei.

Nicke assured that continuing the transformation, capability, and expanding of the partnership can strengthen the company's financial capabilities.

"More importantly, we will continue to work with communities across operational and business aspects to encourage the improvement of health, education, economic empowerment in an inclusivity manner as well as the spirit of energizing sustainable future," nicke said.

For the record, Hannover Messe is the world's largest trade show for industrial technology with an average of 225,000 visitors who are level leaders of global companies.

Indonesia was the first country in Asia Tengagra to get the opportunity as an official country partner at Hannover Messe.

It is said that Indonesia will display as many as 156 exhibitors. Of these, the largest contribution of exhibitors came from snapper-scale corporations as many as 65 companies, start-ups 63 companies, state-owned enterprises 14 companies, as well as eight industrial estates, and four ministries / institutions, as well as two industry associations.
