JAKARTA Grok, a chatbot based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), on the previous platform X can only be accessed by users with a Premium package. However, now the chatbot can be accessed for free.
X actually tested this free chatbot access in mid-November, but not all countries can access Grok. Apparently, access to Grok for free is already available to non-Premium users from various regions.
When the user opens X and clicks on the Grok icon in the middle, the user will see the 'beta' description at the end of the name of the AI model. This information shows that the Grok used by its users is still in the testing phase.
If the drop-down icon at the top of the screen is tapped, users will see the Fun Mode option. This menu includes a toggle button next to it so that users can activate the feature easily. When activated, Grok's response will change.
Fun Mode will present a more conventional or more humane response because there is a humoristic element in it. This mode also makes Grok more free to argue and discuss topics that may be avoided in ordinary modes.

Even though it can be used for free, X provides restrictions for non-Premium users. If the user asks a prompt or continuous question, Grok will stop working and the user will see a warning message from X.
"You've used 10 questions of Grok 2 per 2 hours for now. Please sign up for Premium or Premium Plus to access more or check again later," X wrote.
If users still want to ask questions again or tell Grok to create an AI image, they have to wait two more hours. This rule may be very annoying, especially chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude don't set such restrictions.
