JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) targets that the auction for the construction of a legislative and judicial building will be held next year. The plan is for the infrastructure auction and facilities for the building to be carried out in the first quarter of 2025.

"The auction is next year. Yes, all (with the DPR Building) are auctioned in the first quarter," said PU Minister Dody Hanggodo when met at the PU Ministry office, Jakarta, Friday, December 6.

Dody did not deny that the construction of the legislative and judicial building in the new capital city was a priority for the government in the Prabowo Subianto era.

"(The priority) is now completing the executive (building). Right, this is not finished yet," he said.

However, Dody said that all projects that will be carried out next year are currently in the revital stage by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

"Yes, it should be (auction) in the first quarter. But, right, I've said all the (medium) budgets in'stars' waiting for review from BPKP," he said.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) opened his voice regarding the sustainability of the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in the era of President Prabowo Subianto's leadership.

AHY said IKN development would continue. However, taking into account the timeline for the construction of the mega project which is quite long.

"We also know that IKN is a big project and various efforts need to be made so that it can continue and Mr. President Prabowo also certainly wants to be able to continue the development of this IKN, of course with a timeline that must continue to be adjusted," AHY told reporters at the PUPR Ministry office, Wednesday, October 23.

He considered that not only the IKN project received attention, but also other strategic projects. Moreover, said AHY, President Prabowo Subianto has a vision to strengthen food self-sufficiency to energy.

"So, of course there must be adjustments that can be done and this requires input from all parties and stakeholders," he said.

Even so, AHY said that the construction of IKN in the Prabowo era would be prioritized for the construction of legislative and judicial buildings.

Bearing in mind, he continued, the construction of the executive building at IKN itself has been carried out in the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s leadership with the progress of phase I development of almost 90 percent.

"Besides the executive, of course, is the legislature. So, the parliament building must also be ready, including for judicial institutions. This is at least what I hear directly from his direction in the future," said Agus.

"Prioritize it first before it is developed or expanded for other functions, government and other business functions," he continued.
