Pertamina's Managing Director Shares The Progress Of The Preparation Of A New Fuel Subsidy Scheme Right On Target

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Simon Aloysius Mantiri shared the latest news regarding the progress of the preparation of the latest fuel subsidy scheme.

Simon said Pertamina was a member of the subsidized fuel task force team led directly by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia. This task force is tasked with preparing appropriate subsidies related regulations.

"What is part of Pertamina is to provide data. This data is then collected from Pertamina, PLN, all recipients of energy subsidies," Simon said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VI quoted on Wednesday, December 4.

Simon added that data obtained from PLN and Pertamina will be processed by the Central Statistics Agency so that the data on subsidy recipients on target is more accurate. He ensured that the provision of this subsidy would prioritize the principle of justice for the community.

As for the current position, continued Simon, Pertamina has communicated and updated data from Pertamina. Coordination with ministries/agencies (K/L) continues to be carried out.

"We are waiting for the latest directives when something has been decided and everything that will be taken will go through a discussion process and cross-ministerially to find out which solution is the best," continued Simon.

He emphasized that Pertamina supports the government's steps to revise Presidential Regulation (Perpres) 191 of 2014 concerning the Provision, Distribution and Retail Selling Price of fuel.

"What is certain is that one of the suggestions to immediately revise Presidential Decree 191 is also our focus. So we will encourage the basis to be clear for this subsidy," said Simon.
