Prabowo Asks The Jakarta-Cirebon Giant Sea Embankment To Be Reviewed For PSN

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto asked his staff to review the construction of a giant sea wall which stretches from Jakarta to Cirebon as the 2025 National Strategic Program (PSN).

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto explained that the directive was based on the results of an internal meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto regarding the development of special economic zones (SEZs) and the completion of PSNs in 2024-2025.

"The President's directive regarding the national strategic project is to review the 'giant sea wall'. We have made one in Semarang-Demak, toll road. Now this is what asks for priority from Jakarta to Cirebon," said Airlangga when met at the Presidential Palace. Jakarta reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 3.

Airlangga explained that later the construction of the giant Jakarta-Cirebon sea embankment will be connected to the flood control embankment and tidal waves in Tambaklorok, Semarang, Central Java which have been built.

In the construction of the giant Jakarta-Cirebon sea embankment, the President gave directions to be prepared by financing the Government Cooperation and Business Entity (PPP) scheme.

This giant sea embankment, said Airlangga, is included in the PSN 2025 list as an effort to realize energy and food security.

In the internal meeting, the President also gave directions to pursue the completion of the PSN targeted for 2024-2025.

"The direction of the President of PSN which has been completed in 2024-2025 is to continue to be pursued. Because it is planned that 18 projects will be completed this year, while another 30 will be completed by 2025," said Airlangga.

The Head of State also asked for the program to continue. If later there are other investments, then they will be discussed further or in detail.
