JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK has confirmed that it has started construction of the Phase II Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) which will connect all backbone sections on the Sumatra Toll Road.
Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim revealed that the construction of JTTS Phase II began with the signing of the Toll Road Concession Agreement (PPJT) which was signed on September 30, 2024.
The PPJT includes the construction of the Palembang Bentung Toll Road (Paltung) Section I Palembang Rengas (21.5 km), Section II Rengas "Pangkalan Balai (33 km) and Section III Pangkalan Balai "Betung (14.69 km).
In addition, Adjib said that Hutama Karya had started construction of the Betung Toll Road (Sekayu Interchange) "Tempino 'Jambi (Betejam) Section IB Babat Supat'Tungkal Jaya (31.6 km) and Section II of the Tungkal Jaya Interchange Interchange Bayung Lencir (54.32 km) which had previously been signed by PPJT on June 3, 2024.
"We will carry out this construction in stages in the span of the fourth quarter of 2024 by considering environmental, social, governance elements. So, the impact will also be felt directly for the community," said Adjib as quoted from Hutama Karya's official website, Friday, November 22.
He said the construction would take place in the coming years, in which each section has a different schedule and completion target.
In detail, the Paltung Section I and II Toll Roads, construction work starts in November 2024 and is planned to be completed within 16 months, meaning it is targeted for completion in February 2026.
Meanwhile, Section III of Palembang Toll Road Its construction has begun in October 2024 and is scheduled to be completed within 12 months or to be precise in October 2025.
Then, for the Betejam Section II Toll Road, the construction work began in October 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2026.
