JAKARTA - Electricity Connect (EC) 2024 which carries the theme Go Beyond Power Energizing The Future is expected to be a momentum for energy independence and resilience.

This was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Electricity Society (MKI), Evy Haryadi. According to him, this activity is a continuation of the spirit of the COP-29 Climate Change Conference, which was just completed last week.

"Emergency and energy resilience are the keys to sustainable economic growth. The wealth of natural resources and the great potential for the development of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) in our homeland are all we have," he said while giving a speech at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 20.

Through this event, the MKI was here to provide input to the government, in drafting the framework for the development of electricity in Indonesia with several objectives.

"The first is the overall potential in the field of electricity, which can play an optimal and professional role," said Evy.

Second, how synergy and potential in the field of electricity can be built dynamically, adaptively, and ethically to support a reasonable and rational and efficient competition system.

"Hopefully, MKI can become a hub for channeling, disseminating information, and contributing stakeholders in the electricity sector," he said.

The government is currently continuing to encourage its commitment to policies to use electric vehicles to accelerate the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem as one of the steps towards a clean energy transition.

One of its commitments is realized through the Electricity Connect 2024 event titled Go Beyond Power Energizing The Future to strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration in accelerating the New Renewable Energy (EBT) transition.

Chairman of the 2024 EC Committee, Arsyadany G Akmalaputri, said this event presents various technologies and innovations that can assist the government in supporting efforts to accelerate the clean energy transition.

This year's EC activity is a combination of events that will present an exhibition of digitizing electrical systems, digitizing household electrical equipment with IoT, future office, future EV Ecosystem, and other technological innovations," he said.

This big event is expected to provide insight for the younger generation and professionals in the industry on how the future of electricity will develop, along with the trend of renewable energy and digital technology.

For information, the Electricity Connect 2024 will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Central Jakarta for three days, 20-22 November. This event was attended by more than 500 exhibitions and is targeted to have 15,000 visitors from various professions who of course focus on the electricity sector.

This event is expected to be a momentum for stakeholders and electricity industry players not only to exchange information about clean energy technology. However, it also shares insights into smart grids to NZE targets, as well as strengthens global collaboration to achieve the energy transition to NZE by 2060.
