JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo checked the readiness of the Yogyakarta 'Solo Klaten Segment' Prambanan Toll Road. The toll road can certainly be used functionally during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (Nataru) holidays.
"The Klaten segment has been completed, it's just a matter of completing it. God willing, December 2024 it can be used," said Dody in his review as quoted from his official statement, Monday, November 18.
Dody added, the Klaten Segment of Prambanan is expected to reduce vehicle density on the main route of Klaten'Prambanan which is often a congestion point during the holiday season.
"With the function of the Jogja 'Solo Segment Klaten' Prambanan Toll Road, it is hoped that it will later support the smooth traffic during Nataru and reduce the potential for traffic accidents on national roads," he said.
With this functional route, road users have a faster and safer alternative to travel, especially to tourist areas such as Prambanan Temple and other destinations in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) and Central Java.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo Rudy Hardiansyah said that the progress of the construction of the 8.6 kilometer (km) Klaten segment has reached more than 90 percent and is projected to be completed in the near future.
"We continue to accelerate construction completion without reducing the quality of the work. The Klaten Segment of this Prambanan is expected to be a temporary solution to facilitate community mobility during Nataru," said Rudy.
Rudy said that the function of this segment will complement the Jogja 'Solo Toll Road segment which has been operating since September 2024. Such as the Kartasura Segment' Klaten along 22.3 km, so that during the Nataru holiday the total toll road that can be used is 30.9 km.

"Currently, in terms of construction, the functional path that will be opened has road hardness ready to function in two directions. There are only a few pieces of equipment that we are pursuing until the plan to open it," he explained.
The 8.6 km Klaten Segment of Prambanan is an important part of the Jogja 'Solo Toll Road that connects strategic areas in Central Java and DIY. This route is designed to increase travel efficiency, shorten travel times and reduce traffic congestion on arterial routes.
"Currently, the plan to open the Nataru functional route has been coordinated with related parties. With the implementation of this functional route, it can break down drivers to be able to exit until Prambanan, so that not all of them accumulate out in Klaten," he concluded.
