JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso has again confiscated illegal imported goods in North Jakarta.

This time, the imported goods confiscated were 90,000 rollers of textile cloth worth Rp90 billion.

The product is the result of the findings of the Certain Goods Supervision Task Force (Satgas) which is implemented by the Import Commercial Procedure, especially for textile products and textile products (TPT). Supervision was carried out in two places in Jakarta within the past month.

The items are suspected of violating the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 8 of 2024 and the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 26 of 2021.

"The Ministry of Trade is committed to continuing to oversee and invite all stakeholders to jointly carry out this supervision, in order to protect the Indonesian industry," he said in an official statement, Friday, November 8.

Budi explained that the first supervision was carried out in Roa Malaka Village, West Jakarta on October 30, 2024, with the number of findings of 30,000 TPT rollers worth around Rp. 30 billion. The second supervision is in Kapuk Muara Village, North Jakarta on October 31, 2024 with a total of 60,000 TPT rollers worth around Rp. 60 billion.

Budi said the alleged violations included the absence of import approval documents (PI), Surveyor Reports (LS), and registration of registered goods related to Security, Safety, Health and Environment (K3L).

"The entry of goods without following provisions like this is our common main enemy, which hinders the growth of the domestic textile industry," said Budi.

Similarly, the Director General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order, Rusmin Amin, revealed that the illegal entry of imported goods is a significant challenge in Indonesia with broad implications for the protection and economy of the community and the domestic economy.

For this reason, the Government has taken strategic steps in supervising and handling import problems by continuing to coordinate and establish communication on supervision and handling import problems.

The Task Force will continue to supervise to protect the domestic industry. In addition, agencies that are members of the Task Force will continue their duties in accordance with their respective main tasks and functions," said Rusmin.

For your information, since it was formed on July 18, 2024, the Task Force has carried out exposure activities to the findings of supervision four times.
