PLN Serves 7.5 MVA For Bianglala Electric Bus Charging Station

PT PLN (Persero) through the Greater Jakarta Distribution Main Unit officially increased electricity supply by 7.5 megavolt ampere (MVA) for PT Bianglala Metropolitan as one of the Transjakarta operators.

For information, PT Bianglala Metropolitan has been using PLN electricity since September 4, 2023 with a power of 2.18 MVA to operate 10 charging stations serving 22 electric buses. Now, the pool owned by PT Bianglala located in Ciputat, South Tangerang has added 90 new electric buses with a power requirement of 7.5 MVA to operate 30 charging stations. In total, PT Bianglala is now using PLN electricity for the operational needs of the electric bus fleet of 9.68 MVA.

General Manager of PLN Jakarta Distribution Main Unit, Lasiran, revealed that PLN's electricity supply is in a very adequate condition to meet the growing needs of electric vehicles that continue to increase.

We are committed to providing reliable electricity supply and meeting the huge needs of EV infrastructure, such as the Metropolitan Bianglala Bus Pool. With a supply capacity of 8,113 MW and a peak load of 5,882 MW, we still have a power reserve of 34 percent, so that it is very capable of meeting the increasing demand for electric vehicles," Lasiran added, Tuesday, November 5.

President Director of PT Bianglala Metropolitan, Tasmiyati Mujiono, appreciated PLN's support in supporting the improvement of the operation of electric buses being carried out by his party.

"We are grateful to PLN for supporting our steps in reducing pollution in Jakarta. In the future, the oil-fueled bus whose contract expires will be replaced with an electric bus, so that together we contribute to creating cleaner air," said Tasmiyati.
