Minister Dody Hanggodo Says Trans Sumatra Toll Road Construction Will Be Completed As Soon As Possible

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo said the construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) would soon be completed.

"God willing, it will connect, definitely as soon as possible. But, that's definitely the main thing," said Dody at the DPR RI Building, quoted on Wednesday, October 30.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Infrastructure Financing at the Ministry of Public Works (PU) Triono Junoasmono said that until now the toll road construction was being carried out in stages. The work that will now be completed is the South Sumatra-Jambi section.

"How many stages are divided, the current stage is the backbone that we prioritize. Now we are finishing what is in South Sumatra, Jambi. Hopefully after this we will continue from Jambi-Rengat, Rengat to Pekanbaru," he said.

The man who is familiarly called Yongki said that the project could not be completed next year. Remember, the work will be carried out in stages.

"Oh, it's impossible to finish, it hasn't started yet. It's still preparation for earlier, right, the Minister (Dody Hanggodo) said that it would be continued. The process will continue in stages," he said.

As for the era of the leadership of the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during the 2014-2024 period, at that time the Ministry of PUPR succeeded in completing a number of infrastructures to increase competitiveness and support economic growth. One of them is the construction of toll roads.

In the field of connectivity, the Ministry of PUPR together with the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) have completed 2,432 kilometers of toll road construction.
