Garuda Indonesia And Vietnam Airlines Synergy Strengthen Aviation Ecosystem In ASEAN Area

JAKARTA - The national airline Garuda Indonesia synergizes with Vietnam Airlines to strengthen the aviation ecosystem in the Southeast Asian Region (ASEAN). Through this synergy, the two airlines are committed to optimizing various opportunities for cooperation.

The strengthening of the synergy of the two airlines was marked by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was carried out by the President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra with the President & CEO of Vietnam Airlines Le Hong Ha in Vietnam on Tuesday, October 22.

In addition to optimizing cooperation, this synergy is also carried out to optimize joint marketing campaigns, expand codeshare cooperation and explore other collaborations such as aircraft rentals, ground services, maintenance cooperation and cargo operations.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, said that this collaboration is expected to provide added value for service users of the two airlines considering that later Vietnamese Airlines passengers will be able to more easily access various Indonesia-seeded destinations.

Such as Bali, Lombok, Medan, Jogja, Labuan Bajo as well as other exotic destinations. On the other hand, Garuda Indonesia service users can access various tourist attractions in Vietnam such as Ha Long Bay, the old city of Hoi An in, and the city of Ho Chi Minh.

Irfan said that his party welcomed this cooperation, considering that this collaboration will strengthen Garuda Indonesia's international flight network, especially in the ASEAN region.

"Garuda Indonesia has the same vision as Vietnam Airlines where we are committed to providing world-class service services and expanding the choice of destinations for our service users, especially in Southeast Asia," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, October 23.

With this collaboration, continued Irfan, this collaboration will not only improve connectivity but also strengthen the position of both airlines in the global aviation market.

Meanwhile, the President and CEO of Vietnam Airlines, Le Hong Ha, said that his party also welcomed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Garuda Indonesia.

Le Hong Ha said this partnership not only strengthens the position of the two national airlines, but also facilitates the provision of high-quality services for Vietnamese Airlines passengers traveling between Vietnam and Indonesia.

"We believe this will bring significant benefits to our passengers and further improve the economy and cultural exchange between the two countries," he said.

Previously, Garuda Indonesia and Vietnam Airlines continued to strengthen the cooperation between the two airlines where in 2014 the two airlines established codeshare cooperation where Garuda Indonesia passengers could enjoy various choices ofvietnam airline destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh. Meanwhile, Vietnamese Airlines passengers can enjoy the choice of Garuda Indonesia destinations such as Denpasar, Surabaya and Singapore.
