Airlangga Said The Minister Of The Red And White Cabinet Would Look For A Source Of 8 Percent Economic Growth

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said all ministers in the Red and White Cabinet would hold meetings to find sources that could encourage economic growth.

"In the future, we will have a coordination meeting which will be the direction of the economic pillars," said Airlangga to the media crew at his office, Tuesday, October 22.

However, Airlangga emphasized that the target for economic growth next year will still be above the 5 percent level in accordance with the 2025 State Budget.

Therefore, Airlangga said that to achieve the 8 percent economic growth target, his party would look for supporting sources for economic growth.

"So we are still in the 2025 State Budget, economic growth is still above 5 percent to go to 8 percent, there is a program, this is being prepared," he said.

Airlangga explained that to encourage Indonesia's economic growth, such as increasing investment, opening up export markets and laboratories (intensive).

Previously, Deputy Minister of Finance II Thomas Djiwandono revealed that the 8 percent economic growth target was a target during the five years of the administration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and to achieve it would take time in stages and have a new economic growth engine.

"8 percent is not next year, 8 percent is the target of Pak Prabowo's government, it's 5 years, so we know that the target is impossible to do directly from 5.11 percent, now it suddenly increases by 3 percent of the growth economy, right. Thomas said that currently the government is also exploring new sources of economic growth in almost all economic sectors, one of which is developing downstreaming.

"Almost all of these sectors are being investigated, downstreaming has been said many times that it will be continued, it will be deepened through other mining commodities. But we know that if we only look at the sector it is also impossible," he said.
