Erick Thohir Promises To Eradicate Fertilizer Mafia

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir confirmed that he would eradicate people who have been hampering state programs, one of which is related to fertilizer distribution.

This step is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's target to achieve food self-sufficiency within four years.

"We also make sure that there is no more playing around in fertilizers. We will eradicate those who have been hindering them," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of Agriculture building, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 22.

For your information, Erick was present at the Ministry of Agriculture to meet with the Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman to discuss collaboration between the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Agriculture.

Erick came accompanied by Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo and a number of food SOE leaders such as President Director of Pupuk Indonesia Rahmad Pribadi, Director of Perum Bulog Wahyu Suparyono, to President Director of PTPN Mohammad Abdul Ghani.

Regarding collaboration, Erick revealed an example. For example, collaboration through PTPN will ensure land availability in order to fulfill food self-sufficiency.

"And also the policy later for PTPN, for the allocation of land that is needed for food self-sufficiency," he said.

In front of Amran, Erick also asked for support for the Food SOE holding of PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (Persero) or ID FOOD. He said ID FOOD's condition is currently not healthy.

"And also ask for ID FOOD support, because his condition is not healthy. Maybe it's from me, thank you," he said.
