Erick Visits The Office Of The Minister Of Agriculture Amran, Discuss Food Security

JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) will synergize with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) to run the government program of President Prabowo Subianto's era related to food self-sufficiency.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir said his party together with the Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman would regularly hold coordination meetings related to food security issues.

"We have a full agreement to support the program of the President, Mr. Prabowo, through the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Amran, for us to synergize all policies that are needed for the Minister of Agriculture," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of Agriculture building, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 22.

Erick emphasized that the Ministry of SOEs through Perum Bulog and PT Pupuk Indonesia Holding Company ensure that market operations are in accordance with their main duties and functions in meeting food needs.

Furthermore, Erick also emphasized that in this collaboration there should no longer be any individuals who hinder the road to self-sufficiency in food.

"We also make sure that there is no more playing around in fertilizers. We will eradicate those who have been hindering parties. This will be the Minister to convey," he said.

In making policies later, continued Erick, PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) will also allocate the land needed to achieve the food self-sufficiency target.

"And also the policy later for PTPN, for the allocation of land that is needed for food self-sufficiency and also asks for ID Food support, because the condition is not healthy. Maybe that's from me, thank you," he explained.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman said this collaboration is a new energy to realize food self-sufficiency.

"We can no longer be sectoral egoism. We collaborate, we even expect a command. Why? Agriculture cannot be self-sufficiency without other sectors," he said.

Furthermore, Amran assessed that collaboration between ministries is believed to accelerate food self-sufficiency.

"The President's dream is a big idea, his orders, we were summoned to meet yesterday, his orders are no later than four years of self-sufficiency. We say, God willing, we can collaborate with the collaboration of the Minister of SOEs, the Minister of Public Works and others. We have discussed, God willing, we can achieve this dream as quickly as possible," he said.
