Basuki Hadimuljono's Message To The Minister Of PUPR Era Prabowo: Must Have A Field Worker Background

JAKARTA - The government of the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will end in the next two days.

Along with that, the positions of the ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet will also end.

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono conveyed a message that the next minister must have a background or background for field workers.

This was conveyed by Basuki when met by the media crew on the Media Gathering Achievement agenda of 10 Years of PUPR Infrastructure Development at the PUPR Ministry office, Jakarta, Friday, October 18.

"I think that for the Minister of PUPR, he must have a SIDLACOM standard. The background is that he is a field worker," said Basuki.

Meanwhile, SIDLACOM stands for Survey, Investigation, Design, Land Acquisition, Action Program, Construction, Operation and Maintenance. Basuki said, SIDLACOM is a standard that is obeyed by the technical ministry, especially its office.

"Every job must go through SIDLACOM so that the work can be completed properly," he said.

When asked further whether the position could be filled by people outside the Ministry of PUPR, Basuki said it was okay.

"It can be (filled from outside the Ministry of PUPR)," said Basuki.

However, he did not have time to answer the media crew's questions regarding the conditions for the position of the Minister of PUPR.

Meanwhile, Basuki Hadimuljono became Minister of PUPR for two periods of President Jokowi's administration or since 2014.

Basuki also became President Jokowi's confidant in building the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) in East Kalimantan.

Later, after the Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono resigned in June 2024, Basuki was appointed by Jokowi as the Acting Head of the IKN Authority.

He is an official who started his career as a civil servant (PNS) of the Ministry of Public Works. At that time, he was still 25 years old.

In this agency, Basuki had the opportunity to continue his education to master and doctoral levels with scholarships at Colorado State University, United States.

The man who was born in Surakarta, November 5, 1954, completed his master's education at the age of 35 and earned a doctorate at 38 years.

After that, he returned to Indonesia and took up several important positions.

Starting from the Head of the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Public Works for the period 2005-2007.

After more than 31 years of devoteing himself to the Ministry of Public Works, Jokowi finally appointed Basuki as Minister of Public Works and Public Housing in 2014 in the Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla Working Cabinet.

Showing his optimal performance, Basuki was again trusted by Jokowi to become Minister of PUPR for Jokowi Ma'ruf Amin's cabinet for the 2019-2024 period.
