Ministry Of Agriculture Ensures That The 3 Million Hectare Rice Field Printing Program Is Supported By Elected President Prabowo

JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of Agriculture for Agriculture Policy Sam Herodian ensured that the 3 million hectares of rice fields to be printed in 2025 received full support from Elected President Prabowo Subianto.

"We should be grateful and we are lucky because there is sustainability from the government and then to the government in the future," said Sam in the talk show. Indonesia's Latest Focus on World Food Barns in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, October 18.

According to Sam, the transition from President Jokowi to President-elect Prabowo Subianto should be grateful because both of them have great attention to the agricultural sector.

"And we can steal starts to make extensifications for the 3 million hectares. So we prepare intensification both on swampland and on conventional land," said Sam.

According to Sam, molding rice fields is a step forward towards a stronger Indonesia in terms of food security. The program is not only able to increase the area of planting but is also able to increase the planting index from the previous one to 2 or even 3 times a year.

"Currently, we know that our planting index (IP) is only 1.5, meaning that if we increase the index to 2 or even 3 it has increased by a quarter of the current availability and that is very sufficient," he said.

Rice fields printing activities, continued Sam, cannot be imagined to occur as fast as lightning because they must be processed in stages starting from opening, planting, fertilizing to harvesting.

Support from various parties, including across ministries, is needed in the process of printing fields that cannot be done such as turning the palm of the hand.

"It can't be done immediately this year because everything needs a process. And this is what we are doing, we have started by preparing infrastructure and also human resources from millennial friends to manage it," he explained.

For Sam, self-sufficiency and the world's food barn is not just a figment, but can also be a reality in the not too distant future.

Moreover, explained Sam, the Ministry of Agriculture under the command of the Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman has shown great changes, especially because he is an old person and has long experience in the agricultural sector.

"Mr. Amran is not a new player because previously 5 years ago he was Minister of Agriculture. Imagine at that time 3 times self-sufficiency. And now we are ready to repeat it. Even in the future we are ready to export and help other countries that are lacking," said Sam.
