Waskita Karya Calls The Progress Of The Rukoh Dam In Aceh Capai 96.20 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) said that the realization of the construction of the Package II Rukoh Dam located in Pidie Regency, Aceh, has reached 96.20 percent.

Waskita Karya Corporate Secretary Ermy Puspa Yunita said the Rukoh Dam is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) which aims to increase the production of almost 12,000 hectares of rice fields. The construction of this dam is also an effort to realize water security and food sovereignty in Aceh.

"The construction of this dam is followed by the availability of irrigation networks. So, the water from the Rukoh Dam can certainly flow to farmers' fields," said Ermy in a written statement, Friday, October 11.

Ermy added that the management of water resources and irrigation is important and must be continued to support sustainable agriculture. So, it can also have an impact on the welfare of the people of Aceh, especially in Pidie Regency.

The presence of the Rukoh Dam is expected to meet the needs of clean water and the provision of raw water as much as 0.90 cubic meters per second. It also has the potential to become a 1.22 Megawatt Hydro Micro Power Plant (PLTMH).

"This dam is also prepared to reduce the Krueng Rukoh flood by 89.62 percent. Then, it is hoped that it can become a tourist destination, so that it can grow the local economy," he said.

In the construction of the Rukoh project, he said, Waskita had implemented innovations in the form of using the Multichannel Analysis Surface Wave (MASW) method. This method can be used for all construction work that requires further geological investigations quickly.

He explained that the implementation of MASW can streamline costs and time and maintain quality according to standards. In fact, risks and hazards in project work can be lighter by using this method.

For your information, the Package II Rupiah Dam was carried out by Waskita Karya through Waskita-Adhi-Andesmont Operational Cooperation (KSO). The total contract value is around Rp. 1.19 trillion, while the company's portion is Rp. 591.1 billion.

Previously, the dam that Waskita worked on was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) this year. Among them are the Margatiga Dam, Leuwikeris and Temef. The completion of a number of these projects is also part of the restructuring process being carried out by the company.
