PIS Wins Indonesia CSR Award 2024 Thanks To Whale Shark Conservation To Floating Hospital

JAKARTA PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) won the Social and Environmental Responsibility award at the Indonesia CSR Awards 2024.

PIS was awarded the Best Corporate Social and Environment Responsibility Award 2024 for Supporting Environmental Ecosystem Protection and Health Services, in the Logistics and Transportation Industry category.

This award is an acknowledgment of PIS's real contribution in preserving marine ecosystems and improving the welfare of coastal communities.

Through the "BersEAnergi untuk Laut" program which became the umbrella and main title of the company's CSR activities, PIS carried out its commitment to marine conservation and improving the welfare of coastal communities.

This program includes various initiatives that include social, educational, and environmental aspects, especially in supporting Sustainable Development Goals which include the Ocean Ecosystem, Healthy and Prosperous Life, Quality Education, and Without Poverty.

Under the "BersEAnergi untuk Laut" umbrella, PIS has launched several innovative measures such as whale shark conservation through tagging and monitoring to maintain the balance of marine ecosystems, as well as Ocean LiteraSea programs that focus on developing knowledge about marine biodiversity, community empowerment, and real action to preserve marine environments.

In addition, PIS also runs the Apung Hospital (RSA) program which utilizes its maritime logistics capabilities to provide health services to the community in the Outermost, Outermost, and Disadvantaged (3T) areas.

RSA bridges the gap in access to medical services in remote areas, especially in Eastern Indonesia, which often lacks adequate health facilities.
