The data center, which is located in the Kabil Integrated Industrial Estate, has three data center buildings or campuses, with a total area of up to 10 hectares, and the capacity reaches 50MW. The technology investment reached IDR 1.5 to IDR 1.6 trillion.

This tier IV data center will be able to accommodate data on artificial intelligence of up to 70 percent of the total capacity. With this project, Telkom's contribution to the country can exceed IDR 50 trillion in one year.

Telkom is also targeting to build a data center with a total capacity of 500 megawatts by 2030. One of them is to accommodate the AI adoption trend.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of the Indonesia ICT Institute Heru Sutadi said the need for data centers in Indonesia is very large. This is reflected in the number of internet users who touched 200 million people.

In addition, Heru said, Indonesia is in sixth position with the largest number of startups in the world.

"Because the number of our internet users is 200 million, our application is also a lot. From startups, unicorns, right. Then not to mention all government services, there are also 27,000 applications," said Heru.
