A total of seven Cross-Border Posts (PLBN) spread across a number of regions of the country have been inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) simultaneously in South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

The seven PLBNs include PLBN Napan in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) at a cost of Rp128 billion, PLBN Serasan in Natuna, Riau Islands worth Rp145 billion, PLBN Jagoi Babang in West Kalimantan which spent a budget of Rp226 billion and PLBN Sei Mosquito in North Kalimantan for a total cost of Rp248 billion.

Then, there is PLBN Labang in North Kalimantan worth IDR 210 billion, PLBN Long Nawang in North Kalimantan with a cost of IDR 243 billion and PLBN Yettkun in South Papua which cost IDR 146 billion.

Thus, the total PLBN budget that has been inaugurated by President Jokowi has reached Rp1.34 trillion.

Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Diana Kusumastuti said, PLBN will encourage the development of border areas by providing public facilities and creating new economic opportunities for the local community.

"Every PLBN that is built adopts a local culture, such as the Napan PLBN which uses the Lopo roof model. In addition, each PLBN also has a Garuda Statue and President Soekarno," Diana said in her official statement quoted Thursday, October 3.
