BPS Reveals It Has International Standard Methodology In Determining Inflation Rates

JAKARTA - Plt. Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti revealed that her party in calculating inflation rates has a certain methodology that refers to international standards and maintains independence in processing and collecting data so that there is no intervention from other parties.

"To measure and determine the sampling of price data in the regions, we also use certain sampling methods that are in accordance with statistical principles, and this figure generated by BPS can certainly be accounted for for for for for for independence," Amalia said at a press conference, Tuesday, October 1.

Amalia added that BPS has quality guarantees, in each survey and data processing. As well as having a target method of respondents such as choosing the time, place, and location of the market refers to international standards with a data quality guarantee mechanism.

"We carry out this statistical implementation with guarantees with data quality. So if there is a low-cost market question, the government's concrete market operation is a concrete step in controlling inflation in the regions, price formation in this area is greatly influenced by the current market mechanism, there are various data platforms K/L and local governments, and BPS data can be compared to each other," he said.

Amalia emphasized that until now BPS still maintains independence and cannot be influenced by anything else.

Previously, Minister of Home Affairs Tito said that there were several modes carried out by local governments in outsmarting inflation, including asking BPS for help in their respective regions to ask for the inflation rate to be made good.
