Boss Maspion, Alim Markus Conglomerate Invites Tax Paying Entrepreneurs: Must Dare To Give Up Obligations

JAKARTA - Maspion Group President Director Alim Markus admits that his company is always obedient in fulfilling its obligations to the state, especially for tax matters. According to him, the commitment to pay these levies is a separate way for the business world to contribute to the success of national development.

For this reason, he encouraged all entrepreneurs in the country to immediately report and pay taxes in accordance with the applicable regulations.

"We as entrepreneurs must have the courage to hand over what needs to be submitted. This is the responsibility of all of us, "he said virtually at the Stakeholders Meeting which took place in East Java, Thursday, April 1.

Alim Markus assessed that the government is currently working extra hard in collecting revenue amid the decline in traditional sources of income due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the state also has the responsibility to provide health services to the public due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

"The government has made extraordinary efforts, so I am very grateful," he said.

The conglomerate, known for its slogan "Love Indonesian Products", admits that it has experienced the benefits of the state's presence in protecting its citizens.

"I've been vaccinated twice and it's finished. Once again, thank the government, "he added.

For information, April 1 is the reporting period for corporate / business entity tax returns (SPT) which is scheduled to last until April 30th.

Meanwhile, the SPT reporting period for individuals took place last month from March 1 to March 31.

In terms of fiscal structure, the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) projects that state revenue throughout 2021 can exceed IDR 1,743.6 trillion. Until the close of last February, the Ministry of Finance recorded a realization of IDR 219.2 trillion or 12.6 percent of the APBN.

The realization in the first two months of 2021 was supported by tax revenues of Rp. 146.1 trillion, customs and excise duties known to be Rp. 35.6 trillion, non-tax state revenues (PNBP) of Rp. 37.3 trillion, and grants of Rp. 100 billion.

Meanwhile, for state expenditures, this year's APBN allocates a budget of IDR 2,750 trillion with an achievement up to February of IDR 282.7 trillion or 10.3 percent of the APBN has been realized.
